R Charity is so excited to be this year’s official charity partner for the Arriva Scouse 5k!
Every year, staff working at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust make such a positive difference to the lives of thousands of people across Liverpool and the North West.
To help ensure the best possible outcomes for these patients within our care, the R Charity fundraising team are continuously working with teams across the Trust to fund vital equipment and improve facilities.
Did you know that the day of the Scouse 5k, Sunday 27th October, will mark the last weekend of Breast Cancer Awareness Month? This is a national campaign to encourage women to check their breasts and raise vital funds to support breast cancer patients – many of who we care for in our Linda McCartney Centre.
To mark this, we are looking for 300 very special runners to take part in the Scouse 5k and raise just £30 each to help local breast cancer patients being treated in our hospitals. With the funds raised we are hoping to purchase new 3D imaging equipment, which is guaranteed to detect with pin point accuracy the smallest cancer cells, resulting in earlier diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer patients. This will reduce waiting times and ensure that our patients are treated faster, reducing the pressure and worry that goes with waiting for results.
So what are you waiting for? Come get your wig on and run for the Royal!
Big thanks to our lovely sponsors and supporters.
